I have multiple speakers, monitors, a sub and a few different headphones hooked up to my pc, and this has allowed me to tweak each one to the perfect setting for my listening preference. You should give it a try if you aren’t happy with your PC’s audio.
On a side tangent, a DAC seriously helps to, motherboard DACs aren’t all that.
